Recently acquired set 7715 and while building I think I noticed an error in the
catalog for this set.
It says you need 3 x part 3941 but you actually need 5 x part 3941.
You need 3 on front of the train and 2 to make the platform (check the instructions).
Am I correct?
Er, no? The platform is all rectangular bricks and plates.
Pics of yours?
Probably mixed up the platforms from the main and alternate models. The latter
uses 2x 3941 but only uses 1x 3941 in the train so still needs only 3 of them.

Oh, right. On the box then? Because the instructions I found only show the
main model and how to add a motor.

Yes, but as OP said “check the instructions,” it was logical to look at the instructions
for the source of their mistake
Yes right, I know and you did it right. But everybody here should first now
the inventory was verified by checking an NIB copy. Since that is noted at the
bottom of inventory, most people don’t spot it. And so you would not have any
doubt.

Are there different versions of the instructions?
Having owned 10 copies of this set so far, I would say there is only version.
In this thread, nobody thought there might be two versions. The OP was confused
because for building the main model (pages 1-12), he accidentally looked at the
platform of the alternate model in which two 2x2 round bricks are used, page
22.

On the front page you can also see the platform and the train which uses 3.
But unfortunately you cannot see how the platform is build on the front page.

No no, I must have scrolled too fast (I looked on letsbuilditagain)… or I’m just
blind as a mole

I posted a photo of my instructions here. Unfortunately every time I try to reply
to your message with a photo I get the error message "403 forbidden".
