according to Bricklink's fee table, its calculated like this:
$0 USD - $500 USD 3% of the Order Total
$500 USD - $1,000 USD 3% of the initial $500 ($15)
plus 2% of the remaining total
Over $1,000 USD 3% of the initial $500 ($15)
plus 2% of the initial $500 - $1,000 ($10)
plus 1% of the remaining total
For my understanding:
If I have base grand total summary per month of 2.500 USD, I need to pay 40USD
fee.
0-500 15USD
500-1000 10USD
1000-2500 15USD
Is that correct or not?
Because the past month, I struggle with bricklink invoices I get charged. Feels
like, I paid 30-40% more.
For my understanding:
If I have base grand total summary per month of 2.500 USD, I need to pay 40USD
fee.
0-500 15USD
500-1000 10USD
1000-2500 15USD
It is not correct, the lower rates apply to larger individual orders (to be totally
accurate, larger individual order batches - that is, an order can have multiple
batches, and the fee for each order batch is calculated independently), not the
sum total of sales over the month.
So if your grand total is $2,500 but it's 25 orders of $100 each, the fees
would be 25*3 or $75.
Oh wow. Understood.
So no discount at all for the ones who sell medium orders 0-500 value.
Thats sad and at the same time it raise another question. Where do Bricklink
spend all their massive income?
I assume that 98.5% of all orders are within 0-500 value.
Nice Bricklink!
Have a good one.

I would imagine that, as for most service industries, their wage bill will be
the dominant part of their expenditure.

I’d say that’s about right, above the 90 percentile anyway. I would also say
that seller fees of 3% is more than fair and competitive within today e-commerce
environment.
To better appreciate the value, maybe give some thought to the reach your listings
enjoy here on BL. The site has, and has had for years, massive visitor numbers.
Whether you’re selling globally or not, your wares are being considered by LEGO
enthusiasts around the world. Just one of several aspects of value those fees
represent.
The structuring too, induces higher dollar exchanges to remain on site. In fact,
I've always considered it one of BL's strengths, it’s fee rates.
As to "Where do Bricklink spend all their massive income?" Don't
know, nor feel entitled to. We members might imagine a percentage being wisely
reinvested into the site, maybe even imagine that percentage increasing going
forward. That BL is here to stay

Why would it be sad? You have the chance to sell on the biggest Lego marketplace
for only 3% which is quite low especially compared to other sites like eBay with
their insane 10% fees in the end. Plus BrickLink doesn’t charge fees on S&H
which is also a big help. Well, here’s your discount.

Agreed. I appreciate the affordable fee structure on BrickLink.
