I would like to explain this briefly using a small example with just one part,
which can of course affect several parts and dealers in one order if you go to
‘Buy all’ from the Wanted List and then select ‘Auto Select’.
A part costs 10 cents at the nice dealer and 3 cents at the evil (you could also
say diabolical) dealer and I need 10 pieces.
How can that be? I'll explain, because unfortunately Bricklink only takes
the favourable price into account with ‘Auto Select’, but not the lot rules with
extra costs.
Auto-Select now does the following:
9 parts a 10 ct - 90 ct
1 part a 3ct + 50 ct handling fee - 53 ct
So I pay a total of 1.43 instead of 1.00. With many parts this adds up accordingly.
My request would be to abolish the nonsense lot rules, standardised price without
extra costs as fair competition demands.
Lot limits also cause other problems, such as not being able to order, so the
selection is of no use to me. You end up wasting a lot of time with it and that's
only because diabolical dealers trick the system.

Hi,
If you want to make a suggestion, post it clearly as a suggestion in the Suggestions
topic. That way, members will be able to vote for (or against) it.
And, maybe, if it has many Yes votes, it will be implemented.
In the meantime (which will be a long time), you can least-favourite the “naughty”
sellers and activate the filter to exclude least-favourited sellers from the
Buy page.
