I just did my first BrickLink sale and was charged a $3.50 partner fee by PayPal.
Can someone explain this fee to me? Is it always $3.50 or is it a percentage
of the sale amount? Does BrickLink ever explain this anywhere?
If you check the order details, you'll see that your buyer paid $3.50 in
state sales tax. Bricklink collects and remits sales tax to the states. In paypal
it's shown as "partner fee".

To be clear: you (mihecvcn) weren’t charged, it’s your buyer who was charged.
It’s on top of your total.
(Well, you paid the PayPal fee on it because PayPal charges their fee on the
grand(est) total but that’s cents.)

So BL remits the sales tax to the state so that would mean I don't have to
report the sales tax as a business? So does BL send you a 1099 in January?
