I've got a SMALL Stud.io file that I want to import into a wanted list. (please,
don't tell me to import directly, it keeps using the wrong browser).
So I export my project to an appropriate format, and go to my newly created wanted
list, and choose Upload. I drop the file in...
It keeps failing on nonsense stuff. If I go delete that item from my project
(I can easily add back in later), and re-export, the upload FAILS on some other
item. I've gone through half a dozen items, deleting from the project, only
to have Upload complain about the next one.
Again, this is nonsense failures. Part 20482 is fine. And it exists in white.
But Upload fails. I could list everything, but that isn't the point. I'm
not looking for a workaround, I'm reporting a BUG.
At a MINIMUM, why does Upload just fail at the first problem? Why doesn't
it import what it can, and let me deal with the problems in the Verify screen?

AFAIK, it uses the default browser… but then some firms don’t understand the
words “user’s choice.”

What format is that? The website should be able to import .io files directly.
Not that it would necessarily make it work, just that you don’t have to export
into another format first.
IIRC, a few weeks ago, I reported a problem with importing LDraw files. I’m
not sure what happened as I don’t do that often and didn’t look at the website’s
changelog.
There were also problems with Studio being chronically behind wrt catalogue changes
(merges, re-IDings…)… but those are supposedly fixed.

JFI, actually, the colour doesn’t matter, only the ID: you can put any item in
any colour in your WLs.

I was using LDraw as it was at the top of the list. Yes, I did .io initially,
but as I started deleting the problem items, I didn't want to save that deletion
into the .io file. So, I'd delete an item, export, upload, error, delete
that item, etc etc etc.
After a half dozen, I realized this is a chronic problem, and not the fault of
a bad item.

You mean you also have the problem with the .io? Because, when I reported the
problem, I didn’t. Only the LDraw file failed.
My first Upload attempt was the whole .IO file. When that failed, I deleted the
problem parts in stud.io (the ! parts), and not wanting to save that way, I exported
to LDraw. Sounds like I should try export to something else?

Okay. As I said, I believe uploading the .io worked… or maybe it was from within
Studio 🤔

You can export to “BL Wanted List XML” but you must know that the upload is a
bit different:
