I had an uncle die and I need to get rid of completed sets. Do I ship them whole,
put together or do I take them apart and put them into ziplock bags? Thanks for
any help!

You will need lots of padding and a sturdy outer box if shipping them whole and
assembled. Perhaps it would be better to ship them unassembled. I've a similar
dilemma regarding some set I was going to build but stopped building.

Cheers ...

You will need to get net one positive review before you can sell also. This
means you will have to make a purchase from another Bricklink seller. Then I
would take them apart and verify that all the pieces are there and pay special
attention to the minifigures to make sure they are all complete and not damaged.
When shipping, make sure to package it well and safely. Other than that, I
cannot think of anything. Welcome to Bricklink.

You will need to break them down and check every part is present and undamaged.
It will take a while to open a seller account,so you have plenty of time to check
for completeness.

Selling sets here takes some skill and knowledge. Buyers will expect your set
to contain every single part and color exactly (following the rules for Used,
Complete sets). If you are not 100% positive of your LEGO knowledge, you are
will have to list them as Incomplete and do your best to describe their completeness.

Buyers will expect sets to be relatively clean, undamaged (including cracks on
minifigs) and packed carefully in plastic bags. Pack by size not color to avoid
losing track of small parts. Protect decorated parts and minifigs with extra
care. Then ship the whole thing carefully in a sturdy box so it's not damaged
during shipping.

You will also have to learn a fair bit about shipping to be able to set prices
and set up shipping methods here.

In other words, it takes A LOT of time to prepare a Used complete set for sale
here. Do your homework and decide if you want to take this on.

I am sorry about your uncle. I hope maybe you had some good memories together
with the LEGO.

Take care,
~Jen

Thanks for the replies! I have 187 sets to sell after giving ones to family.
I do know that I have to buy something before I can sell anything.

Again, thanks for the help!

I generally only ship Speed Champions sets fully built, but put them in their
original boxes with bubble wrap inside. The bigger the set, the more risk there
is of things coming apart due to the fragility/complexity. So for the big stuff
(assuming you have access to the instructions) I like to take it apart in reverse
and bag the pieces as I go. This way I can confirm I have all the parts for
the next owner and they get to build the set themselves.
