I placed an order yesterday with the store Patrickshop (user KeloBrick) and requested
a photo before making payment since the order was for ~$3k USD.
A very quick reply was provided that a photo was not available due to the sets
being in an offsite warehouse and my order was immediately cancelled.

If this store is legitimate, there are some great deals to be had on hard to
find sets, but buyer beware as my spider senses were tingling and though I would
share.

Could be but if you really want to cheat you can also easily pick up a photo
somewhere from the internet and mail it.....who will check this?

No pictures isn't weird policy but immediately cancelling an order, on the
other hand...

You placed a $3,000 order with a Ukraine-based store that is less than a month
old? That takes some stones.

Their Titanic set is about half the going rate.

I think the best action would be to report them to the admins.

If the store is legit, they can continue not being named and shamed.
If not, the admins are aware right away and investigate the store and put in
the right action to prevent from buyers being scammed.

Thank you for the helpful reply. I wasn’t aware of the reporting feature outside
of an order (which they already cancelled.

As someone who only deals in sets and many rare and retired sets to even suggest
they are not close by is a red flag.

It is VERY common for a set buyer to ask for photos. Happens to me at least 80%
of the time and even higher when we are talking about things like Titanic, AT-AT,
BDP and so forth.

To cancel an order immediately when asking for a photo is a huge red flag, because
that is to be expected.

ToS is also pretty clear that for a person to advertise something they must be
in possession of it. That seller says "its in storage" and its a grey
area, but this entire post sounds more and more like a 3rd party seller.

Thank god you didn't commit 3k usd to that.

100% agree with you although tracking is not always available for the right price.
But if that is "his prefered or only option" then its pretty stinky.

Never seen a store actually referred to as a "Scammer" before.

I’m looking for a black pearl and grand carousel and decided to through in a
sandcrawler while I was at it. He had a photo with a post it note for a black
pearl, but multiple (3) were listed, so I asked for photos showing them together.

Now back on a hunt for a grand carousel that isn’t $2k.
