Package picked up, and about 2 hours earlier than would be normal.
15 minutes later marked as Regional Weather Delay. Clear blue sky for the last
couple of days. Checked the USPS national network map, and see nothing unusual.

Have you shipped anything out since the hurricane? Maybe their facility suffered
some damage?

Yes I have, and all my sends go via the Jacksonville facility. On very rare times,
when Jacksonville is impaired, they go out via Tallahassee instead.

This morning I had another thought about what may be happening here. We are so
close to the 2024 General Election, that ballot by mail are already moving thru
the system. It may be that an inordinate number of postal workers are being tasked
to making sure those ballots get delivered, and returned. That would well impact
delivery times of parcels.

When you factor in the constant motion of ads through our mail system, I don't
think mail in ballots with a maximum of one per citizen is making an important
percentage difference in mail carrying. We get more than one ad per citizen
in our house pretty much every day.
Most of ours go through Tallahassee, sometimes JAX. ALL of ours have been marked
the same, even though leaving from Thomasville GA

Think about this one, I had a package inbound to me, shipping from Pinellas County,
it also got tagged with Regional Weather Delay, and again exactly 15 minutes
after it was acceptance scanned. It should have transited thru Tampa to Jacksonville,
and it arrived in Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon. Something odd happening
here. There are some real delays, but the why is curious.

I think there is just some system setting wrong. 3-4 times in the last week,
I've had an outgoing shipment say "Weather Delay". I am wondering
if they updated firmwear on handhelds and it has transposed it for something
else.
