Pirateship sent out an email about it but it's been very inconsistent from
what I've seen. Pirateship might have one rate, Paypal another, both might
have different rates for similar packages and shipping lanes one day and then
different another. I'm not really sure what's going on with that but
we were at least warned it was to go in effect on Oct 6.
Hi. I have noticed that on the usps website that the rates have gone up again
especially for ground advantage. Anyone else noticed this?
Holiday pricing.
Maybe start using Pirate Ship? They somehow are not charging the extra $0.35.
Pirate has what they call *Secret discounts* which are some variable percentage
off the rates published in Notice 123. My take is that USPS cuts them some slack,
but on a basis that reacts to mail volume. As volume builds towards the holidays,
those discounts go away and the published rates apply.
My favorite Secret Discount is the one for just under 16 ounces. Good for up
to 15.99 oz but I just input 15 oz to use it. It is not a massive savings from
the 16 oz rate, but I will take any discount I can get.

Looks like Pirate Ship's prices now reflect the rate increase (I haven't
bought a label since yesterday but the "Rates" page now gives price quotes
from $4.09 to $4.71).

They went up on Pirateship now also, I had to raise my shipping prices because
I was losing money on shipping

Shipstation has also raised prices as of Saturday Oct. 26 when I printed a label.
Yay.
Time-Limited 2024 Price Change
Starting October 6, 2024 through January 19, 2025
Rates have been going up every January, July and the "Time-Limited 2024 Price
Change" from October - January. There will supposedly be no price increase
this January.

The only thing I ever notice is the shipping rates that Bricklink apply to Orders
in my store are always 5-10$ short.
I think because those rates are applied to the weight and size of the set opposed
to the weight and size of what is actually sent when the set is boxed up and
ready to ship.

Oh well!
I would warn you not to remain under the assumption that BrickLink applies it's
own shipping rates to orders. Store owners do this when they set up their shipping
methods. If the system is not applying accurate postage, you need to switch to
Manual Invoice or go reconfigure your settings to work properly. You decide what
it charges and what margins you need for your items.
