It's simply that a new off-topic post adds a new post link to the forums.
Replying to the same topic only creates a reply.

I do prefer to keep the default view on the forums, although if this keeps up
I might have to remove the off-topic forum from my view.

It's origin or name would help some...

Copyrighted in 1986. I believe Matchbox also had in the mid 1980s, a collaboration
with the Ideal Toy & Novelty Company, makers of the Rubik's Cube and other
puzzle type novelties.

If that helps narrow the search.
