I'm trying to find a store I can buy from which will not mind if the order
doesn't go through to completion due to some payment issue but is somehow
registered with the seller of the store in question.

Being an Australian, I would prefer to test from within Australia if possible.

I'm just wondering, though, is there a proper method of testing buying without
risking a negative feedback due to something that caused an order to be placed?

I'm still working this out, haven't had a lot of spare time lately, so
any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers ...

Talk to the seller first.
