Hi all!

First request is that is there any way to clean and/or polish transparent parts
to remove scratches? I have a few Explorian, Aquanauts and Aquasharks sets that
have canopies with scratches that I would like to reduce. I've cleaned them
in plain water and that was great for the dirt but just want to see if there's
a safe way to make them look better.

Second request is I have the Caribbean Clipper (6274) and I was wondering if
there is a safe way to clean the sails? They have some dirt smudges and marks
that I'd like to clean off but I'm not sure it's safe to.

Thank you all for your time and help and have a great day!

You can use a fine abrasive like toothpaste, baking soda, furniture polish or
silicon carbide for lessening the appearance of fine scratches.

For cloth, use water and a soft brush, then if it doesn’t work use dilute mild
soap. Then flatten with a warm iron. Start as mild a cleaner as possible.

I wouldn’t use a brush. I just make them wet with running water, gently rub in
some mild soap and rinse it out very well.
Sometimes they clean up completely, sometimes there will be some dirt left, I
do not want to try too hard in those cases because I don’t want to damage the
cloth/sails.

Depending on how fragile cloths/sails are I do or do not iron them.
If I don’t iron them I press the cloth between a tea towel and let it dry.
If I do iron them I also always use a tea towel to prevent direct contact between
the hot iron surface and the sail.
Sometimes (large) wrinkles are difficult to get out, I also do not over iron
the material to get those out.

Yes, I should have said iron with a tea towel or similar on top and underneath.

By far the best video on how to clean sails I have ever seen!

The only thing I don't recommend is trimming the stings off the sides of
the sail, let the customer do that if they want.
