As a dedicated BrickLink user and shop owner, I appreciate how the platform connects
LEGO fans globally. However, I believe there’s room to improve the payment options.
Currently, BrickLink offers Stripe, but it's limited to credit cards like
Visa and Mastercard. Expanding this to include more payment methods—such as iDEAL,
Google Pay, and Apple Pay, like BrickOwl does—would significantly enhance the
user experience, especially for international buyers who prefer alternatives
to credit cards.
A dropdown menu for selecting preferred payment methods could streamline the
checkout process and make BrickLink more accessible to a global audience. This
small change could greatly benefit both buyers and sellers and support the continued
growth of the platform.
Let’s work together to advocate for more payment options on BrickLink!

I agree.

No no! Simply let the user select the payment mode when checking through Stripe,
it's not necessary to set it up upfront, and could be confusing.
It's just a question of contract between BrickLink and Stripe I guess.

THere is paypal which accepts both Credit Card and Denit Card....
THere is paypal which accepts both Credit Card and Denit Card....
... and charge an arm, a leg, a torso and a hairpiece too, for the privilege..
And not to forget a cape, a skirt and tiara in chrome gold for fixed fees/exchange
rates/etc..
Oh. And since we left the rest of the world over here on our little island, I
suggest we add Bank Transfer to that payment option drop-down menu, for us Brits.
It's not like we get many orders from EU and ROW now anyway.. (95% less)
Transfers are free and instant from/to most banks.
Now THAT would be a game changer for us! Should instantly make leaving Europe
half as bad...

Bank transfers within the EU are free, bank transfers to any country outside
the EU are not.
The person in the EU will pay a fee (usually around 10-15 EURO) and the person
outside the EU will also pay a fee to receive it. And you are reliant on the
exchange rate the bank gives (usually 5-10 cents less than the actual exchange
rate)
Also note that not all bank can accommodate transfer to outside of the EU

This isn't true. Banks within the EU can charge fees for transfers to other
EU nations. The rule is that they have to charge the same fee as they do for
a domestic payment. It is normally free, but doesnt have to be.
It is also wider than the EU. It is for the SEPA area, which includes non-EU
countries. SEPA transfers to the UK from EU and vice don't incur transfer
charges. They can have charges for currency exchange, but not a transfer fee.
I have a Euro account with a UK bank and can transfer Euros back and forth fee
free.

Precision: It’s because your account is in Euro that you profit from the SEPA
rule. The E in SEPA is for Euro and the rules don’t apply if the transfer isn’t
in Euro

I have lived in Belgium my whole life and have never heard of any european bank
charging for domestic transfers. And since they are required to charge the same
rate domestically and international (As long as its EU or SEPA) bank transfers
are free.

I did forget about SEPA, but to be fair all the countries included in SEPA and
geograpically located within Europe anyway

Stripe has a rather expansive selection of funding choices, but each of those
comes with specific refund-ability and other attributes. BL should be very careful
about enabling those, otherwise sellers might not be so happy with the outcomes.
