I've parted out (On BL) some sets I've bought which have many of the
parts I need for a MOC.
I've added my Studio Build to a wanted list but it doesn't seem to tie
up the parts I have in the My Parts section on BL.
Am I doing something wrong?
You're not doing anything wrong, it's just that the My Collection feature
is far from complete (or even useful).
And there's no way to ‘substract’ inventories from Wanted Lists on the website.
So you'll need to use third-party tools, like BrickStore (app) or Rebrickable
(website).

Well that's frustrating as a newbie to MOCs lol, thanks for the info will
switch over to Rebrickable for this bit.
