Hi All,

Been a while since I was selling, just recently opened my shop again.

Had an order that is now 5 days old. Buyer is not replying to my emails, but
is active (They left feedback for another seller a day ago)

How long do I wait for either a NPB or cancelling the order?

Thanks

If they are 'hot' sellers, a week. If run of the mill parts, maybe 10
days.

If they have less than 10 feedback I would message them within a couple of days
but more to check everything is okay and they are familiar with BL and the payment
process set out in my store after which I'd probably open a NPB at first
opportunity because in my experience those that have 0 feedback or don't
shop here very often are much more likely to be non payers and/or not communicate
well but other than that I'm pretty relaxed and may not open a NPB for a
couple of weeks, however I have good duplicate stocks for most parts and I guess
it depends how keen you are not to have stock held up therefore its very much
a personal thing when it comes to how much time your willing to give

Thanks. They have a low feedback rating of 14. I'll give it a few more days.

Five days is long enough to wait for posting an NPB on a buyer who does not pay,
or answer emails. Waiting longer, with no response is not going to prompt the
buyer to pay, or pay sooner.

The first stage of an NPB works as a reminder to the buyer that it is time to
pay for their order, or at least, respond if there are any issues. That means,
that for a responsive buyer, an NPB is nothing negative at all.

If you have sent a reminder message, and received no response from the buyer,
then NPB immediately. Why tie up inventory for a buyer who has no intention of
paying?

It depends how you look at it as many buyers try to hold out some extra time
to give themselves further opportunity to add items to their order. Once the
seller messages the customer the pressure is on whereby from their perspective
its probably safer to just complete the order. Admittedly its probably best if
customers ask to keep their order open and make their intentions clear but at
the same I have found many additional lots being added to orders days/weeks after
original order placed with no communications at all whereby I just keep re-invoicing
them until they eventually finish and pay

I find this one of the benefits of Manual invoice since there is otherwise no
opportunity for a customer to consider adding anything when forced to use IC
however both checkout options have their place but I'm happy to go down the
relaxed approach and will even allow customers to cancel without NPB penalty
should they wish. The only time I will complete NPB against them is if they never
respond at all
