This is old news, but I couldn't find any discussion about it.

1x2x1 panels come in two variants - 4865 with sharp corners and 4865b with rounded
corners.

Back in 2021, Russell changed the numbers of at least some of the decorated variants
of 4865b to remove the b. So 4865bpb095 became 4865pb095

However it seems to me there's absolutely no indication whether this stickered
part should have rounded corners or not. Without the b, there's no way to
know which is the base part.

Are any of the admins able to explain why this change was made? This also seems
to be the case with a few other panels, for example 4215 (Panel 1x4x3)

Somebody once replied to a similar question of mine that 4865 is a blanket entry
covering parts that could have either sharp or rounded corners, so the b is not
necessary.
(Did a quick look through my old messages, but didn't find it yet. I can
look closer if needed?)
Greetings,
Patrick

Many of the basic stickered elements are not variant specific, so this change
was to bring that particular part in line with the numbering convention of the
other patterned versions of the same part.

If you want to see if it is the old or new type, look at the photo:

Part No: 4865pb095 Name: Panel 1 x 2 x 1 with 3 Coral Fish and White Bubbles Pattern (Sticker) - Set 41380
*
4865pb095 Panel 1 x 2 x 1 with 3 Coral Fish and White Bubbles Pattern (Sticker) - Set 41380
Parts: Panel, Decorated
Another way to know is to look at the timeline for the variants. It seems the
switchover was around 2010, so this part from 2019 would certainly be the newer
type with rounded corners.
