Hello,
I have some variants of the 2 x 5 hinges available and want to learn to which
sets they apply adequately.
The oldest may be the ones without any hole as in set 336-1. This one I don’t
have.
But then there were ones with small holes, big holes and black or red joints.
Where do they belong originally?
For comparison I added one hinge 2 x 9, which I only saw with a red joint so
far. If it also exists with a black one, where has it come from?

I don't know for sure, mine are not from sealed sets, but I checked my stock,
and found:
- Small holes have "Pat. pend."; I have 3 with big holes, two of which
have part numbers, so they are definitely younger. The third is a "Pat. pend."
one though.
- I have black joints only in the "Pat.pend" hinges, those with "Pat.pend"
scraped out and those with part numbers have red joints. But there's also
older ones with red joints, so no clear distinction here either.
- I have only one without hole, this one has Pat.pend. and black joint; so probably
in the oldest group.
Hope that helps a little!
Patrick
