| I received an order for several minifigures sold as "new (Complete)".
The documentation says it should include all extras etc.
There was no comment on the sellers post indicating otherwise.
I reached out stating that I received none of the extra parts for the figures
and would like them, or the cost of the missing parts plus shipping from another
seller. Its ~$10 to buy those parts outright elsewhere.
I was told the only option was to return the items for a refund.
Its quite clear they have no plans to even offer a refund for the missing parts.
What are my options here?

Minifigures should always be complete. That means you should get the parts listed
in their inventories.
Handheld accessories are not in the inventories.
Also, if you’re talking about collectible minifigures, there’s two different
entries in the catalogue:
1. the set entry, with all the parts (tile, handhelp accessories, Extra parts)
and instructions and polybag or box,
2. an entry for the minifigure that says “minifigure only” in its title.
If you order the minifigure only, you only get the minifigure.
So, to be able to answer your questions, we need to know what “extras” you’re
talking about, what you’ve ordered (catalogue ID) and what you received.

It was the Set for a CMF. So it should have included 4 extras per. With 10
CMFs, thats 40 missing parts. A total of about $5 in value.

4 extras per? I can't think of many CMF sets that have 4 extra parts - I
could be wrong though. This is the only example that springs to mind:

I should add that I'm only expressing skepticism about the # of extras and
not whether the seller should have sent them. They should all be there whether
it's 40 parts or 20 or 2.

If it is a Complete Set, it must come with all Extras. If the seller won't
work with you, then it's time for a NSS.

In your original post you said that it was an "order for several minifigures,"
but just now you said that it was "the Set for a CMF." Which did you
order, minifigs or sets? That would definitely make a difference in this case.
I realize that a packaged collectible minifig is a set, but they are often referred
to as just "minifigs" since that's mostly what the set is. However,
here on Bricklink there's a distinction. For example,
is a set, but
is a minifig.

1 thing to also keep in mind is that extras can vary based on region (a good
example is the Indiana jones hat) so even if the inventory has extras it might
not have been included in that sellers production run of that item

These were definitely sold as SETS rather than minifigures, right? If so, the
extras should have been included. If the only option the seller is offering is
to return them for a refund, then that is really the only option you have. You
can start a NSS and that might help get a partial refund for the missing parts.

Thank you for the useful response!
Sounds like they can just close the NSS with proof of delivery, right? Which
means a negative review or paypal dispute are my only real options. I'll
ask the seller (again) for the partial refund for the missing parts, as a last
effort before choosing one of those options. I have no idea if paypal "permits"
partial refunds.
btw, it was very weird seeing people ask to know the details of my order and
doubting me. Instead of just responding to my question.
People need to understand when someone asks a specific question, dragging the
topic away from that doesn't help and hence shouldn't be discussed.
This is the Help forum.
I wouldn't be here if this was a single extra part.

I didn't recommend an NSS for this reason, nor a PayPal dispute because PP
might just turn around and say "return for a refund, but you have to pay
for shipping". If the seller is willing to accept a return *and* pay for
return shipping then that might be the way to go.

It is important to know if you bought sets or minifigs, as there is a crucial
difference between them when it comes to CMF. Sometimes even apparently experienced
buyers buy the minifig entry expecting to get the accessories.

IIRC, it happens that sellers are confused too… or for sellers to confuse things
further by including the accessories in the minifigure only entries.
It’s why “minifigure only” was added to all the minifigure entries… and we still
get confused people (or tales thereof) on the forum.

Well, we aren’t mind-readers and your first post was confusing (using set
vocabulary but talking about minifigures).
Anyway, it’s all cleared-up now and you got answers.

| I don't think that any of the responses to your issue were doubting you.
They were asking for clarifying details of a post that could be interpreted in
a couple of ways.
One of the great things about the helpful responses on the forum is that multiple
people may be helped by reading responses to an issue raised by a single post.
That is why it is a good thing when the answers range more broadly to related
issues. They may not be completely relevant to your specific case, but they may
be an explanation that someone else with a similar issue needs.
