Hello,I am new to this forum,I am neither a collector or amtrder but I could
do with some help and advice.
I have a sealed ,new ,boxed, twin pack wrapped in sellophane and unopened.
There are 3 Bionicles
8811 Toa Lhikan and Kikanolo
8756 Sidorak
After looking on Brick economy I was surprised to see the prices quoted for sealed
boxes of these models.
I realise that an item is only worth what someone will offer. That being said
Brick economy quoted £388 for 8811,
And £112 for 8756.
My wife bought this pack back in 2004 as a birthday present for someone in the
family but there were too many small parts so we stuck it in the loft and forgot
about it.I recently found it and upon checking it out discovered this world of
lego collectors.
It is nothing more than an accident that we still have it.
My question is where would it be best to sell it.
I have no real interest in lego and would like to let it go .
My problem is,Where do I advertise such a thing.
Please help ,once it is sold I will probably never have any lego again.
My thanks in advance

eBay or FB marketplace are probably your best bets.

If that is a co-pack (which usually has a cardboard carrier/wrapper and a 5-digit
number, you may want to take pictures and add it to the catalog. Currently the
catalog does not show any co-packs that contain 8811-1.

Nita Rae

Thank you Nita, though you have already raised a couple of questions
1) what is a co pack ?
The items I have are 2 separate boxes sealed together in a sellophane wrap. There
is no 5 digit number ,The 2 boxes were sold together.
2) why would I add it to the catalogue ,how would that help me to sell them, and
how would I do that,I have no idea about lego and only want to sell these.
Sorry to be so useless but this is completely new to me.

i would suggest your best bet is to find/contact a UK/England Lego seller on
here & see if you can meet them at their storefront or in a public area to
negotiate a fair price on them. they are worth a bit of money, but you do not
sound like you want to invest the time into figuring out how/where to sell them
online & ship them out.

Thanks Sylvain,I actually don’t mind putting the time in ,not at all,Ebay seems
overloaded with ads for lego.I have contacted a couple of auction houses with
“toy specialists “ though they seem clueless when it comes to bionicles.Only
people who know about lego seem to know about bionicles ,strangely in order to
sell the items it seems one needs to be a collector or trader with some sales
feedback.I am just someone who has these by nothing more than chance, and as I
am not a trader or collector it is hard to get on any selling platforms where
there are people who would find these an attractive purchase, but I do agree that
contacting lego sellers is the next step.I already have them on ebay but with
1000s of similar items they just seem to get lost in the masses.
I appreciate your reply though
All the best

If you have them on ebay, you might find someone who will bid on and buy them.
Good luck Mr. Turnip!

Cheers ...

They aren't lost if someone is searching for those sets. The £400 starting
bid is likely to put people off though. You could wait to see how many views
and watchers you get to give a rough idea about interest, then maybe lower the
price if it doesn't sell this time. If enough people are interest you can
often get a good price by starting at what you would accept rather than starting
at a price that you think one person might pay.

But don't expect much action until the last hour or even few minutes or seconds.

I agree I don’t want to upset anyone but that brings me back to ,how do I contact
people who might be interested if it is a breach of the ToS.
The best folks to buy are on here but I am forbidden from contacting them.So
what next.?

All I’m saying is that BrickLink is a marketplace, not the Yellow Pages

If a sale happens thanks to BrickLink (= the sale wouldn’t happen without BrickLink),
BrickLink should get involved (and get its modest fees).

When you contact someone here, this text is shown:
“This contact form should in no way be used for soliciting purposes and conducting
business either offering items for sale or requesting items to be sold that would
circumvent submitting an order in a seller's store.”

If you and the seller/buyer can make it that the sale goes through BrickLink
in some way, then you wouldn’t have “circumvented” the markeplace.

Ageed again Silvain, unfortunately I cannot upgrade to a seller without at least
one positive feedback according to the rules and cannot sell the only item I
have to get that feedback,so I am stuck.I would be delighted to sell these to
someone on this forum and pay Bricklink any reasonable fee they asked for but
I can’t and as I dont intend to buy or sell lego ever again I guess I am not
the sort of person they want as a member, but I do appreciate your help.

Sell them on ebay. You are more likely to sell to someone that wants them than
someone that wants to sell them. A reseller won't pay you anywhere near their
value.

In a way… though “eventual” is a false friend, it doesn’t mean “possible” in
English but “inevitable.”  Fitting for taxes but in contradiction with “avoiding”

Wow! That's incredible!

The data is real, but I think your sealed co-pack's value is around £500.

I have no real interest in lego and would like to let it go .
My problem is,Where do I advertise such a thing.
Please help ,once it is sold I will probably never have any lego again.
My thanks in advance

Wow! That's incredible!

The data is real, but I think your sealed co-pack's value is around £500.

hello cycbuild,I have a problem believing that a couple of boxes of lego could
have a value of anything like this.I can’t dispute the evidence but Still have
a problem accepting these figures.I would like someone to come along, offer me
a reasonable price and take them off my hands,I ‘m not greedy .I would like a
new banjo and if these boxes would make someone happy ,so be it.i appreciate
your reply
Thank you

It's all good. Happy to help out. To adults with disposable incomes, opening
a childhood set is like a ticket to a time machine.

£300 is very reasonable, in my opinion, but you can set the minimum bid lower.

If you don't wanna jump through the Bricklink hoops, just throw them up on
a eBay auction and let the people decide what they're worth - it's your
best bet at this point, going off of what you've said & the info you've
been given previously

Ebay is likely the best option anyways, it has a wider audience in general and
you should be able to attract attention - even the most obscure listings get
views

Thank you all,I will continue with ebay ,and drop the price,I’m in no rush and
maybe someone on here might be interested.
All the best to you all
