So, you would need to leave instructions on where you keep your most recent backup,
or instructions on how to get the download before your account is closed.
Am i able to eventually pass my store onto someone else?
Just currently updating my will and would like to leave all my LEGO to my Godson
in the event that something happens to me.
This sounds really serious, I hope it is a precaution, just in case of…
You can leave your Lego inventory to your godson, maybe make a sort of file of
it but as you mentioned he cannot take over your feedback.
He can take your storename with, maybe, a little bit of a change.
I wish you all the best!
Can he then continue the store if he sees fit?
I am aware that you can't sell your store and feedback, but this would just
be a continuation.

Hopefully it won't be for a while
Cheers
I’d ask the Help desk¹.
Note that if it’s a corporation (legal entity) who² owns the account, then the
corporation survives the owner as there’ll be a new owner. And so the account
(and feedback) should survive too.
But then, incorporating just so the feedback isn’t lost may be overcomplicated.
BrickLink should be able to make exceptions or simplify things.

This is not allowed per our Terms of Service. You can allow access to another
individual to handle remaining orders and close the account down, but another
person cannot inherit the account. They would need to make their own account
and transfer the inventory and settings.

What would happen if they were working together with the same account. For example,
a husband and wife team that were both processing orders on an account in the
husband's name. If he then died, would the wife have to close down the account
and start a new one even though she had jointly run the store, possibly for many
years?

This is a great question, and I would love to hear the answer because my account
is used by my husband, my child (25) and myself. We have been considering opening
a store and if something were to happen to me, they would still want to use the
account.

No, they wouldn't need to open a new account. We don't distinguish between
spouses with account ownership. Sometimes we'll allow a separate account
for a spouse, so in that case it probably wouldn't be transferable.

That makes sense, as does what you'd do if they have two separate accounts.
What about other family ties (such as parent and adult child). I know of one
selling team that is father and daughter. Passing it on within a family seems
quite different to selling to a third party.
