Thought I’d check my box of rejects as I thought I’d seen something I now need
but didn’t recognise at the time.
Found it and one other piece.
The item I wanted and found :
Saved me a few £’s.

Luckily, you kept all the parts apart and don't put them IN the trash !
I put parts in the trash a few years ago: Castle visor 3843 in perfect condition,
before checking there were real LEGO parts
[P=3843,5]
Luckily, they were in a bag above in the trash and nobody put trash on within
the time frame.

Is that why your ID pic wears a security suit, like a trashman?

I used to sort this into my non lego pile
I'm sure I donated a few over the years, but the last one I recouped in mint
condition.

Crazy. I've never encountered that piece or even known about it... well until
now. Bricklink voodoo rules dictate that I'll probably find one in my next
few lots.

Gone through a further lot and found a few more pieces, strangely 2 more of the
88066.

Yep, done this a few times myself. Now I keep a non-Lego box of stuff I pulled
out of Lego lots I buy. There's a been a few times where I come across a
part I haven't seen before and realize that I have it in my non-Lego box.
Having that box saves me from berating myself later. Makes me feel better that
I'm not the only one who's thrown away or donated Lego.

I once tossed a pair of into our non-LEGO shrink bucket back when
they were selling for about $7.00 each. Thankfully we had not taken the bucket
to the hospital yet.
