Hi,

Is there an easy way to highlight and/or update items in a wanted list that are
old and have newer part variants? i.e. 3794a-3794b

I recently parted out an older set into a wanted list. The list contained lots
of older parts that had newer variants. A lot of the old parts were expensive
and it was a painful process to go through and manually work out the correct
part variant.

Apologies if this has been asked before. I've googled and searched but couldn't
find an answer.

Thanks.

Not on BrickLink.

AFAICT, Rebrickable (optionnally) replaces older variants with newer ones when
you upload a MOC.  Not sure if this is also available for “simple” parts lists.

Yep, painful.

It seems to me it’s not an FAQ (frequently asked question) but a FMP (frequently
mentioned problem)

Thanks for your response, I'll give Rebrickable a go. It is good to know
that it is not just me that has run into this problem!
