| Hi all. I recently started bilding a cart for our castle sets as there's
nothing much innthe way of castle carts. Just noticed the bricklink designer
programme thingy on the main page and thort maybe I should submit my design.
Problem is I need to download this and design that and make instructions and
I can't belive how complicated it all is because it's hard to understand
how to work it all and I only really know how to build but and not use technology
if that makes sense. I totally get it why there is guidelines but I think the
normal builder who is older, feels left behind. Not sure if my design would infringe
on Lego previous titles I.e. castle or border on politics because its a king
castle cart. What you think?

I'm 50+ and can use stud.io. I fail to see what your design has to do with
politics.

For Studio, read the help pages: https://studiohelp.bricklink.com/hc/en-us
(there’s links to quite good introductory videos).
The guidelines may seem complicated but they are only complete. They are also
good sense for sets that will be built by a lot of people.
As for your design:
1. As the guidelines say, “a castle is castle,” you’ll not be considered infringing
on previous LEGO castles if you make your own… provided it’s not too similar
and you don’t say things like “it’s set X but better” or “it’s a complement to
set Y.”
2. As for the “no politics” policy, I don’t think it applies for a coach, even
if this coach looks a bit like one that was used recently IRL.

| It's a nice looking cart!
Do you have perhaps have someone in your family or vicinity who's more skillful
with computers who could help you out to upload your entry?

Hi Erikk. Thank you for your kind reply.
I am actually going to leave this and not submit this idea. I didn't realise
that there was another cart in the ideas programme that is similar. Out of respect
to the other designer, I am going to just keep these for myself and sell on through
traditional channels. I did eventually download studio on a old laptop I had.
The problem intitially was it wouldn't work on the chrome book we have, or
the tablets we have.
So, back to the drawing board for new ideas lol. Thanks 👍
