Now you are just creating straw man arguments. It also creates an inconsistency
in that BL will be allowed to link to TLG but the membership cannot.
Links outside the forums are not under my responsability to check and they don’t
need to obey the forums’ rules. (They may have to follow other rules, see the
ToS.)
Them the rules. Always have been, didn’t change with the acquisition.
IMO, saying rule 6 meets this criteria is not in the spirit of the rule.
To be precise: “6. No active promotion of a competitor's website. Linking
to other websites that offer items for sale that can be sold on the site is also
not allowed.”
Note that it says “also,” not “for instance” or “that is.”
Is S@H the same site as BrickLink? No.
Does S@H offer items for sale that can be sold on BrickLink? Yes.
It’s strictly the letter and it’s also the spirit.
It’s strictly the letter and it’s also the spirit.
It may be the letter, but I disagree that it is the spirit.
Case closed.
As forum mod, I concede to your authority.
I don't, no no no
But one thing is sure, IMO.
BrickLink and LEGO are 2 different commercial entities, I guess.
If we'd allow links to PAB Parts and LSAH Sets - for instance, not only -
then the forum will be soon a long catalog of links to LEGO products on their
site.
This will - more or less - but for sure decrease the business here.
And drastically decrease the interest of the Forum
It's more interesting to talk about the Brick Violet for instance
(kidding)
Why? Because PaB will be included as an option for the MOC Pop-up Store?
(An option, not a store. You’ll only have access to it when you buy on the MOC
Pop-Up Store. It won’t appear in searches, store lists, or on the Buy Page.
To be more precise, buying on the MPS means buying instructions and parts for
one of the proposed MOCs. If you don’t buy instructions, you won’t be able to
buy parts.)
Again, make up your mind: if S@H & PaB are not competitors, why are you unhappy
with PaB in the MPS? If you don’t like PaB being included in the MPS, why would
you want links to them in the forums? Why would you want them treated differently
than Amazon or eBay?
It’s double standards: MPS is the slippery slope to replacing all the BL stores
with PaB but putting links to S@H/PaB instead of the BL catalogue is fine and
dandy.
Or are you saying that my post is like a good kefir / yogurt / cheese: it
was a little bland and wattery at first but you find it more tasty now it’s aged?
ALright, welp, in case you missed it there's a new lego set that I can't
show you because it's not on BL so I can't do a macro.
It's another large scale Ninjago set and there is a really nice page for
it on (the site which shan't be linked to) for set 71799. Check out the
embedded videos and tell me if that's a flushing toilet.
Looks like poop and potty humour is engrained in Lego's design philosophy
now; don't even get me started on the Ninjago City sewage system - I sure
hope the water flows downstream or else the guy fishing half a baseplate away
will not want to eat what he's about to catch
Confirmed, they flat out say it's a working toilet on the page. But they
use a brown 1x1 round tile as the doo-doo. Seems like a brown hot dog may have
been more apropos.
