| Have two, one flat silver and one black.
They at first appear to be 30173b but on closer examination they don’t match
BL images.
Now classing them as probable clones.
No Lego markings on either but we know this may be ok.
Flat silver has only one circle close to guard on reverse when viewed as images,
it does have shallow hole in hilt.
Black is without hole in hilt and faint circle on reverse close to guard.
Patterns on hilt appear different to each other.
Anyone have more experience with these Katana parts with square guard without
hilt cap ?
Cheers.

All of my have the hole in the hilt and with the exception of the
tan one I have; they all have a marking on the blade by the guard.

Hi,
As you can see, the hole in the handle is at a different place, depending on
the mold. There are 2 different molds, the end of the handle is a bit different.

| It seems one of your silver ones was used as a toothpick |

The one with 'the end of the handle is a bit different' is a .
On your pictures is looks like the 30173b is marked '30173' on the blade
and the 21549 is marked with a 'lego' logo. I agree with stuart that
his katanas on the photo are likely clones.

They both look like clone parts to me. The black one for sure is, and the other
one should have the part number on it.

| Thanks everyone, they were amongst a bag of genuine pieces, into the clone box
they go.
