interconnecting the edges to the stud holes. It looks like 44041 and 4204 are
actually the same part, and Lego made a transition from 44041 to 4204 starting
around 2002, without really changing the piece itself. Hope this helps you."
It was nice of them to give me that information and at first it does sound like
they have the alternate. SO, in my excitement I placed a nice order including
the brick.

the fault was on me because I did not contact him before ordering to make sure
that the verbiage being used was understood on both sides. I also told him I
did not want a refund as I will be able to use the brick later this year.

92903 have a slight curve difference and can make an aesthetic difference especially
if using both variations on the same model.
I would appreciate all opinions.

If you knew of the difference then you should have told the seller what to look
for before buying. The seller is right that there are reinforcements connecting
the tubes to the edges, but then both variants have that. This is the point
you probably should have asked for a photo, or asked the seller which image
it looks like.

Yes, I did contact the seller and did explain I was looking for the alternate
44041 that has the ribs for reinforcement on the bottom. I also used the macro
so the seller could have looked at the pictures of the part to try to understand
what I was looking for. My question also assumes that "ribs" is a universal
Lego term like how it is used for a minigure torso.
The seller is right that there are reinforcements connecting

I did state in my original post that I was the one at fault as I did not contact
the seller before placing the order to clear up any misunderstood verbiage.

I was going to say it depends on the seller’s experience. As in: new sellers
know they don’t know every thing and are happy to learn, while older sellers
think they know everything

Of course you can contact them. There might be two extreme consequences, or
somewhere in between: the seller listens and replies or the seller thinks you
are a problem and blocks you. Different sellers will do different things, and
one seller may do different things at different times depending on the type of
day that they have had or how a lesson is formulated or a question is asked.
It may also depend on the quality of the "education". If it takes a
long or multiple lessons to be clear what the lesson being taught is, they may
be less inclined to be educated. Even less so if it is a cheap part. That is
why I think it is important to be clear about what you are asking if you decide
to ask it.
Some sellers like to be educated and some don't care at all.
I'd just caveat your response with something like "This might not interest
you, so feel free to stop reading here, but for future reference, part X has...."
