Hi, I'm new and don't want to overreact but I have a potential situation
here with a seller.
03/01/23 Bought a baseplate from the seller.
03/08/23 Messaged seller asking when it would ship. Said he would pay extra for
faster delivery.
03/10/23 Seller "marked" it as shipped. No tracking number.
About this time I noticed that the most recent feedback was a similar issue.
And a second negative feedback since I ordered, saying the same but with broken
parts. October feedback saying the shipment never arrived and seller stopped
responding. So two most recent feedacks are negative with similar complaints
and a history of ghosting someone at least once with no delivery.
03/24/23 Messaged seller on bricklink and personal email asking if he had a tracking
number because it hasn't arrived after 2 weeks from date marked shipped.
03/27/23 No response from either message. No delivery yet. It is CA to USA, so
I understand there is a delay. But other later CA deliveries have come and done.
At what point is it time to get assertive and take action?
Thanks.

if the seller isn't responding file an NRS (non-responding seller) and if
3 people complete that against the seller their store is permanently closed so
that should get them to respond. otherwise if you file a Paypal claim that might
get them to respond also if it has been over 2 weeks since they responded and
there isn't a tracking number

If he's paid it should be an NSS - NRS is for when you haven't paid yet.

ah i thought nrs applied to if the seller just never responded but yah an nss
would work also
Thanks everyone. I waited a bit longer just to be as fair as possible. Weirdly,
he responded within an hour of me starting this thread. Said he would ask his
partner and get back to me the next day. Never did of course. I messaged him
again yesterday, with no response yet. And so today I filed NSS and requested
refund from PayPal.
Not the best experience for one of my first orders on this site, but everone
else has been good.
What do I do if the package magically shows up tomorrow? Not that I believe it
was ever sent at this point.

if the package shows up you can remove your NSS (if you confirmed they actually
sent you what was ordered otherwise don't remove it)

Go straight to paypal. They recovered almost $900 when Eaglemoss went bankrupt.
I only have good things to say about paypal. When I have a problem I always
talk to someone on the phone and do not use all the ways they want you to do
it online. Bricklink will not really help with anything and even though you
file a NSS it takes to others and when three are filed they will cover their
own butt and close the store unless they can prove they did send it.

Sorry to hear about a bad seller and glad you filed the NSS and PayPal claim.
Continue to push PayPal your $$ back. Believe if the NSS completes then they
cannot leave you negative feedback either, or if they do it will be removed.
Of course maybe the seller had an issue that prevented them shipping… health,
etc but in that even they can at least ask for a few days etc and indicate they
had a suddenly.
Thanks, but I think this guy is a world class lier. As soon as I filed the NSS,
he immediately responded saying that they sent it to the wrong address and can
get it sent to me tomorrow. Says a lot of other things I have good reason not
to believe either. I told him to keep it and give me a refund. Not a chance
in hell I'm going to play this game for another month, except to cut myself
off from him.
So, he claims it was sent to the wrong address which is an acknowledgement that
it hasn't been sent to me yet. Do I have the power to cancel this order and
get a refund? I told him I don't want it anymore, but I think he is insisting
on still sending it to me. I don't want to get anything from him and I don't
want him to get paid for this. I want to nullify this whole thing and have nothing
to do with him anymore. Can he still have it sent to me and keep my money at
this point? I feel like he is trying to force me to accept whatever mistakes
or lies he has put into this. Should I have the post office refuse delivery?
I don't want to look at this baseplate and be reminded of where it came from
and what I had to deal with. Receiving it is no longer a win for me. I want to
buy it from a person I feel is honest.
I'm confused.
I put it in NSS status. Paypal got me the money back. I canceled the order to
get rid of the NSS. The guy messages me three days later asking me to take it
off NSS because his store is shutdown. He recently got yet another complaint
from a buyer. I tell him that I already did and he needs to talk to bricklink.
Now it is in "Pending" status.
Did I do something wrong or do I need to do something else now?
