Hello, I'm looking for some advice on how to sell an item.
Years ago I purchased a large lot and it included an old box of set 145. The
box itself is a little beat up but the inside foam and plastic are in pretty
good condition. I have checked the pieces and it is not a complete set of set
145, and it has other extra pieces in there not belonging to this set. Everything
in here is the "old" styles from the 1970s to early 1980s era. Solid
walls on bricks, some split tube varieties, some with pat pend., Some with pat
pend removed, some with no pat pend At all.
The great part is that they are all in almost new condition. Everything is excellent.
The whites are white and glossy, no dents or dings or even major surface scratches.
Everything is almost new. Even the little catalogs /marketing fliers are in great
condition.
I'm trying to figure out how I can possibly sell this. This is a gold mine
for someone looking to complete vintage sets.
Open to your advice. I've attached an image below for a better idea of what
I'm dealing with. Thanks!
It took around 2 years to get about $220 on Bricklink, if I recall correctly.
And 365 is a much more appealing set than 145.
Maybe you could get around $100 on an auction site though.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have an opinion on selling the individual pieces?
Since it's not complete, perhaps it is better sold as individual pieces
for people to complete sets. But I'm not sure how I can distinguish these
as being in excellent condition? Can I command a higher price because of that?

In my experience, these types of vintage sets just don't sell well on Bricklink.

You are probably better off trying to complete it and selling it as a set rather
than parting it out.
The problem with sets like this is that they are not gold mines - the parts are
not really worth much at all. You have to hope you can find a collector wanting
it as a set, with the box and all inserts.
