The set is listed as having two Black Propeller 3 Blade 3 Diameter with Axle
Hole (part number 6041.) This however cannot be, since where these two get mounted
on are pins, not axles, as per the official LEGO instruction book. Suggestion:
change the 2x 6041 into 2x 65768 (Propeller 3 Blade 3 Diameter with Pin Hole).
I do not own the set, but the part existed at the time of the set's release,
and it would then make sense.
No, 6041 is the right part, because 65768 didn't exist back in 2007.

I watched a couple videos and apparently the axle connection doesn't go all
the way through that part. I saw someone stick it on a pin.

Yes a pin clicks in nicely and allows the propeller to spin freely on a part
3749. The axle hole is only a thin section at the other end.
