Anyone have thoughts about leaving your store open while on vacation. I'm
gonna be gone 8 days and would like to stay open. Have you done this before and
what should I be aware of? Also is there a way to notify people aside from a

You can use a banner and an announcement. But, in my opinion, no good comes of
asking people to accept a delay of more than 2-3 days.
I use a banner, but if I'm going to be away more than a few days I close
the store. Also, if I'm going away on vacation vs a business trip I will
close the store. I want the vacation to be a vacation

What I do is that I close my store, but put up a message that "I'm on
vacation, and will not be shipping for XX days". I then state that if anyone
wants to place an order and accept the deal, they can use the password XXX, and
their order will be processed once I return.
