| Hi all,
It there a way to (legally) seamlessly connect the bottoms (anti studs) of 2x
?
See picture, I'ld like the bows connected.

That one goes inside but has no friction.
I've tried

Clip it at one of the notches (yes I know you specified legal - but I don't
think there is a legal way).

A half pin fits on one end (with a bit of force) but the rim adds 2 LDU so there's
no seamless connection possible.
Thanks anyway

Which is why it’s illegal: the pin is never released from that force

Illegal??? I re-read the whole BrickLink Terms and couldn't find anything
about this.
But agreed, it wans't a good solution anyway.

“Illegal” means breaking the law. But BrickLink Terms aren’t laws. Breaking
them isn’t illegal, it’s a only a breach of contract.
Here we’re talking about the Only True Laws: LEGO System laws!

Use a rigid hose. This won't be tight, but if you have the right length hose,
it may be a snug fit.

Rigid hoses are too small to have any friction, so they just are sitting loose
between the 6060 parts.

Legally with Friction and Support kind of. If you cross over to the Grey area
while keeping it LEGO. There are several ways.
Its clear several people have pointed out the obvious ones so I won't rehash
them.
#1 If Friction and Support isn't that much of an issue use a short piece
of Pneumatic hose or soft axle. roughly around 5-6 studs long is probably the
best way to go. as long as there is hollow space which I believe there is.. I
do not recall there being any webbing or the throat is deep enough for some length
of tubing.
might be too long
#2 While some go off as Dirty or Illegal. I have a Bin full of Broken pieces.
Sometimes the best piece is a recycled/modified piece. I have in a pinch razor
knifed studs to make male to male pieces. While in this decade we can find pieces
to get us there or close; one of my all time favorite mods to use on busted pieces
for these type of connections if space allows it was the headlight side of this
piece.
need to be the older ones with thin flange. new ones are much wider.

Interesting. A soft axle might do the trick if it was cut to the exact length
required to have some 'grip' but it will still be an illegal technique
that LEGO never would use.
Thanks anyway, appreciate your thoughts!

inside
you can even cut them shorter legally since both hoses are meant to be to cut
to different lengths.

You might try looking at SNOT techniques. Brick tolerances vary, so there might
be something you could get away with, the only trick is finding a part with appropriate
tolerances and length to fit inside:
https://bricknerd.com/home/snot-basics-geometry-techniques-and-pitfalls-3-18-2021
It was long ago, and I swear I've seen someone come up with a SNOT connection
for your situation, but my search keywords just won't bring it up.
Cheers ...
