I just checked out the new a-frame cabin (I know, it’s been out for a while now
lol) and I for one think that it is a complete disrespect to the original. I
supported it for the amazing design with the big pine trees, and I just thought

I like the production version better (although the trees look a bit spare).

I like the Ideas entry. I think the cost to make those trees would be $50 or
more each, and to have partially connected roof details to make that texture
would produce complaints about it being too fragile. I do wonder how brittle
all that brown is going to be.
I can't see Lego making a set that detailed and keep the price point down
to appeal to more buyers. I feel to make a commercially viable set they have
to give us something removed from the idea's submission.
It looks much like the original except for the trees, which seem lacking. They
even retained the block walls made out of Thor's hammers.
Barracuda bay was a complete disrespect to the 'idea' (though perfect
as an original Lego design).
