I try not to complain about things but I was wondering if it bothers anyone else
when Sellers send you a message with your tracking number and say that your order
has shipped, only to find our that it has not shipped but they have only printed
the shipping label.
You might have to go back several times to find out if it really shipped.

Just asking.
Big companies do it to. We send the "order has shipped" message with
tracking number right when we print the label. We have the order up, tracking
number right there, may as well give the information now rather than waiting
until after we go to the post office and try to make sure we mark only the orders
that we did ship as shipped and send them the correct tracking numbers. It's
usually only an hour or so anyway between printing label and bringing package
to post office.

Doesn't bother me, as I do this myself too.
Note however, that many post offices simply accept the package, do not scan it,
throw it in a bin, and it will not get scanned until the end of the day, or until
it reaches a sorting center. So, even though they may have not yet been scanned,
they have certainly been shipped.

I know I wouldn't be able to keep track without a ton of extra work if I
didn't mark it shipped.
Personally I find buyers who harp on me about "has it shipped????" annoying
and I stoplist them.

It’s very likely it’s already been shipped/just about to be shipped as it can
easily take several days for tracking to update for the first time

As soon as we print up label and it goes into our outgoing bin for the carrier
to pick up, it's marked shipped, otherwise it's a bit of a waste of time
to essentially keep dibs on the post office scan. Our carrier scans when they
pick up at our facility, but any retailer does the same thing.

Agreed here!
We here set Shipped when the order isn't anymore in our hands/control, ex:
the post office, the sorting facility, the relay point, etc.
Because in between the sticker and the post anything can happen, like your car
is stolen with all the orders inside, then you'll have also to explain to
10 buyers that you actually didn't ship

It doesn't bother me that other sellers do it (within reason) though I myself
don't do it on BrickLink (I don't mark it as Shipped until the day it's
sent). But if you use integrated shipping with i.e. eBay or Etsy they'll
100% mark the order as Shipped/Completed once the label is created.

Cannot talk for others, but the time between setting to shipped and actually
shipping is no more than a few hours for me.
I set orders to shipped ones I have them completed here including shipping label.
Everything is right here, I can complete the order on my side.
And move on to the next order.
The mail gets taken away after 5 o’clock and only gets scanned after that (if
ever).
The buyer might have to wait a few hours at most before it is actually “shipped”…
I guess we are different then. I mark them shipped as soon as we get back from
the post office or the next morning and at that time they are already posted
through the Post Office and have a suggested arrival date.

Which is your way of doing it, nothing wrong with that
There are many ways to skin a cat, I prefer to keep them alive.

Except Shipped in English has a different meaning - I guess - than To
Ship, To be Shipped, etc.
It's not my language; but AFAIK it means the (transportation here) action
is passed, done, not ready to be done.

Nice one!
We've got almost the same, a female named Saï Saï (which is "bandit"
in wolof language).

When used for postage, shipped does not necessarily mean the transportation is
over, it means the act of loading it onto the transportation (originally a ship,
of course) is over. That is why shipped and delivered (in the postal sense) have
different meanings.
But it can also mean the transportation has finished in a more general sense.
Further context is necessary to know whether something has reached its destination.

When brought to the ship, it was shipped.
You couldn't say it's Shipped when you've only made the sticker used
for the ship shipping.

So if I use my bike to “ship” the packages to the post office, ones I drop the
packages in my basket, I can say I shipped them

Here 12 years ago!
Also a nice one, I have had so many wonderful cats over the years.
My best one, I could do anything with it, do tricks etc, he died young of heart
failure 😞
Luckily most of them are with us for a long time.
My oldest daughter just had her first own cat, great fun seeing them learn how
to take care of another living being.

Maybe it would be best that sellers don't send you the tracking number as
soon as they have it, but instead leave you waiting for a few days before passing
it on.
