| Those of us in the US have constant problems with some carriers - for me it’s
USPS marking things delivered before they deliver them, then misdelivering.
I never got the package, it’s not the sellers fault, but there’s still a problem.
For me, the best way to ensure no issues with delivery is to not ship USPS -
however, it’s pretty rough searching through things just to find out at the end
that I’ve either got to take another risk (I just lost another order) because
the seller only offers USPS, or I’ve got to request an invoice and jump through
hoops to spend a hundred bucks.
The only way to protect the seller and the buyer from incompatible shippers is
to allow the buyers to filter by shipping carriers offered - without it, I’m
ordering straight from Lego or Amazon, because Lego let’s me choose and Amazon
refunds when USPS refuses to do their jobs.
We’re all adults here - buyers know the best way to get a package to them, sellers
hate dealing with lost packages, and nobody wants to deal with the stress - let’s
eliminate it together.

So you are proposing a list of every carrier in every country on BL that has
to be kept up to date?

Indeed, just look at the list of payment methods….

To be fair, I think the post-2017 ‘only Stripe, PayPal, and IBAN-if-you-ask’
is the simplest way to clean the list by making it irrelevant
A French saying about “niches fiscales” (tax shelters) may apply here:
“Dans chaque niche, il y a un chien qui aboie.” (In each niche/doghouse, there’s
a dog barking.)

| Thought about a similar thing myself, there are some carriers here that are useless,
however the problem is that the seller does not always know who the end delivery
carrier will be there are numerous contracts between carriers to for different
areas. I don't think there is any way that would work.
For example if I order from LEGO directly, it could be delivered here by 1 of
three carriers, I never know which it will be.
National postage services have contracts too in other countries, so even sending
by national carrier in one country would not guarantee delivery by the national
carrier in another country.

Any seller should refund if the package doesn't reach its destination - it's
the seller's responsibility to make sure the package gets to the buyer.
That said, I've found USPS to be incredibly reliable - 2 orders lost out
of 400+. And I've never had an order NOT get to me (eventually), and only
one that was slightly damaged in transit.
Additionally, I think if you exclude USPS as a shipper you'll find yourself
excluding most US sellers.
Last, shipping methods aren't easily quantifiable. The names of shipping
methods are free-text.

My suggestion to you would be to obtain a different/additional address or delivery
destination.
Or perhaps offer your specific mail carrier person a nice incentive to bring
your mail, such as some homemade baked treats or a box of homegrown fruit or
veggies or whatever you feel is appropriate.
Or perhaps to determine if you are the victim of porch pirates (package theft).
One other suggestion would be to speak with your local post office chief (postmaster,
officer in charge, etc) and give them the tracking number of a missing package
and see what they can find out for you.
Also consider that your specific address may be easily mixed up with another
similar address, such as 1154 Maple Street versus 1154 Maple Place or 1145 Maple
Street.
Good Luck. I hope you find your missing packages.

| With the increase in online shopping during the pandemic and the resulting increase
of packages to be delivered, it is clear that the only way to be 100% sure your
package gets where you want it to go is to deliver it yourself. The carriers
have intertwined so much that you can ship by one and it will be delivered by
another.
For example, I purchased a product on the East Coast with 5-7 day shipping with
UPS. Using the tracking number, I followed it across country and then it said
it was delivered. It was not on the front porch. Looking closely at the tracking
information, I found that it was in fact delivered to USPS. We eventually got
the product, about 2 weeks after ordering it.

The quality of your local USPS service is just that: local. The supervisor for
your region is responsible for the issues you describe, and that's who you
should be contacting to improve your service.
In the meantime, arrange for another delivery spot, ask the post office to hold
your packages for you, or talk to your actual carrier. I have solved most every
delivery issue by simply talking to and getting to know our regular carrier.
Mistakes go way down when they know who you are... just saying.
Thanks,
Jen

| Renting a post office is also an option:

| Check your address in the USPS dB, then make sure BL and PayPal match. https://tools.usps.com/zip-code-lookup.htm?byaddress
as a seller I frequently find buyer addresses that don't resolve correctly
in stamps.com/endicia... the source is the USPS db perhaps something is messed
up in that dB. Especially for apartments, suites, boxes at a shipping store,
etc.
Do you have similar addresses nearby? I once shipped to a street that is a circle
with N, S, E, and W addresses. I'm certain one package was simply delivered
to the wrong house with the same or similar number around the corner.
If the issues are delivery to you...then your local Post Office is the issue.
When I file a missing mail help request (as a shipper) ...nearly all destination
POs call me the next morning. All of them call me before the end of the business
day. The work culture at your PO is set by your local postmaster. And..your
local Postmaster does have a boss higher up the ladder...
I've had more issues with buying from Lego than anyone. The mangled box
(delivered to the PO by DHL) falls apart at the local PO. The PO is then literally
cleaning up the mess. Picking up baggies of parts off the floor and taping it
all back together. (this is less of an issue since March 2022 or so.) But the
prior two years... 50% of boxes or bubble mailers from Lego had damage issues.
-- rarely was anything missing. But I feel forced to take pictures of everything
before I open it up.
PS.... Don't get me wrong, UPS is becoming a better option for more and more
shipments within and from the US. I ship UPS frequently.... but I can't
use instant check out for it. UPS won't beat the small First Class Package
price. But they are getting more competitive on more packages.

I feel like this is more of a TLG issue than a USPS issue. There have been a
lot of complaints about haphazard packaging on LEGO Shop at Home orders: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1243918
