On the picture of 5306c01 you can see a black round piece around the cable. I
have no idea what it is- maybe something to suppress intereference?

I found three cable in a lot I bought that do not have this round piece. The
cables look new in every respect and it is unlikely these round pieces have been
removed. (no sign of cable replacent either and the cnnections look brandnew)
The cables are original LEGO pieces. When searching on the internet, I noted
some similar cables although most have the black round piece.

Is this a variety of the 5306c01? Or can anyone tell me what the round piece
is?

Yes.  That’s what ferrite core are for.

Maybe it depends on the legislation about interferences… or cost savings.

So maybe it should get a subnumber?

I have 4x 4548 MISB/MIB and in the back of the box image the Filter is shown.
I opened the 2 MIBs and said Filter is there indeed. Personally I've never
seen any of these wires without the filter, but who knows?

It is just a schematic and not a photo. Maybe they originally thought it was
necessary then it turned out not to be.
