Every day there seem to be numerous threads created by studio users in the main
forum, not in the studio forum. They often get told where the studio forum is.
Why not advertise the studio forum with studio, so anyone needing help can click
through from within studio directly to the studio forum.

Why not combine the forums

That way newbie BLers can see the other forum information as well.

Just my two cents worth

What could be done is a new forum that can cater to the catalogue uses like this
one, while temporarily keeping both the older forums, with automatic cross-posting,
for old-timers.
But that will be after I get my poney.

There already is a link in Studio.  Actually, there’s already two: one on the
Welcome dialog and one in the Help menu.  (And there might be one or two others
I don’t remember.)

The Studio button is on every page on BrickLink and it’s red (so I don’t know
how it could be made more visible)… but people who never posted or even read
this older forum still arrive here instead of the other forum.

When people are lost, they are lost.

On a side note, people often claim this older forum is old and unusable and yada
yada… while newer forum engines are better and more intuitive and yada yada…
but those “lost users” manage to post their questions in their own threads and,
generally, in an appropriate subforum here.  That’s less often the case in the
other, more modern, forum.

If there is a link there, it is not working too well. I don't know, I don't
use studio. But just from the number of studio only users (no feedback) suggests
these users cannot find the right place to search for their or issue, or seek
help after that.

The links in Studio may not work too well but what about this very website?

Whatever these people do (go directly to bricklink.com or search for bricklink
or bricklink+studio or whatever keywords), they end up here on bricklink.com…
where all the pages have the red Studio button, and where all the pages about
Studio have the red Studio button and a bar with “Studio Forum” in it
(like there’s a “Messages Topics Search…“ toolbar on this forum).
And they miss all those clues and end up posting on this forum.
I think one could say the website is not working too well either

And, by the way, there’s 3 entries in Studio’s Help menu that lead directly to
the Studio forum:
User Forum,
Request Missing Part,
Submit Feedback.
That means these people don’t go to the Help menu at all.
I don’t think they even think of looking for something in the program.  They
think “Studio is from BrickLink” and they arrive here, where they are lost.

They probably arrive here, see a link to Community which they think is a place
where they can ask other Bricklink members for help. And they don't realize
that there is a separate forum for Studio under the Studio link.

Indeed.
So maybe the new link should be in the Community menu?
Eh, but do they wait to see the menu under “Community” or just directly click
on the icon?
So maybe another link should be on this forum?
Or in the post form?

I’m not sure everyone would be happy with all those new links to Studio

Anyway, my point was: they don’t use the application to arrive here and it’s
when they are here that they are lost, so adding an even more obvious link in
the application won’t help.

All the links in studio, bring me to the Bricklink front page. None take me to
the Studio forums. Took me forever searching the Bricklink message boards just
to find a single link to it.

They used to always work.  Now it appears they only work if you are already logged
in in your browser.

If you go to the Studio forum without being logged in on BL, you’re asked to
log in, and
— before: you were sent back on the forum page,
— now: you’re on the BL front page and that’s all.

Dang, I missed the occasion but I’ll do it nonetheless:

The dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).

Please search the forum for your question or suggestion before posting a new
one (the search box is in the very dark grey banner).
There’s indexes of known bugs and suggestions that you can browse first:
Studio: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5579
PartDesigner: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5589

What could also help is a link from this forum - as though it were a subforum
- to the Stud.io forum. Obviously this would require some customization.

Yeah, anything that pushes people with issues to where they need to be, first
time.
