| Does anyone know for sure, that the NA release of 4940-1 contained the comic
book? I do not recall ever seeing it, and I broke up 10-15 copies back in the
early days of BL. Most of the contributors for the comic catalog entry are in
EU.

Nita Rae, Probably of not much help; I can’t answer for sure. In Canada - we
also had 2 copies of the set - birthday presents - and I saved everything. Boxes,
Lego catalogues, bionicle containers, and especially comic books from sets and
the Lego catalogues. (As an aside, for a time I had two copies of the bionicle
comic books in pristine condition from the free lego catalogues from about 2001
to 2008 and I was stunned when people wanted these items.)
But, when I went to sell both copies of the 4940 Granite Grinder, I couldn’t
find the comic books anywhere. I tore up my house looking for them, assuming
I would not have thrown them away. And I can still see the old listing in my
inventory (as I retained it) and it indicates that the comic book is not included.
Since I never found them, both copies since I had 2 sets, I also wondered at
the time if they were actually present or not. I don’t think so as I had a tendency
to keep everything, but I am not sure.
