| Hey all, I've googled this but didn't find anything...
Are there variations in trans-light blue? I've got all my trans light blue
1x1 round plates from sealed seats I've bought in local stores and parted
out according to the BrickLink catalog. I can see two distinct batches, a lighter
and a darker variant, often inside the same set. Is this a known "issue" or are
the part listings wrong and it's actually a different color?
Thanks,
Peter

Yep, lots of variation in this color. They used to be noticeably more yellowish
on occasion — the newest ones have fixed this problem, but they're now a
bit more milky-looking than before. I think they changed the plastic type.

They did change the plastic used for transparent parts (from polycarbonate to
methyl methacrylate-acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene), but the color problem existed
before that.

I wonder whether smaller pieces tend to have greater variation in color than
larger.

yep — I don't think I worded that clearly enough. It used to be extremely
variable, sometimes appearing yellowish, sometimes not. Now it has been stabilized
BUT at the expense of creating yet another variant.

Rather than creating variants (which strays from the official list of colors)
I wish we could tag consistency instead. Some are more consistent than others.
