I’m not sure I’m in the right place, but here goes.
I recently sold set 8097 Slave I 3rd Edition. The set did not have the instruction
booklet so my customer went to Lego.com and downloaded the building instructions.
Lego did not list the set as 3rd édition but it showed the year as 2010, the
same year that Bricklink shows. My customer complained that there were missing
parts. We checked inventory twice against Bricklinks inventory and the set we
shipped was 100% complete. After hearing about the missing pieces we checked
inventory against the Lego.com inventory and there’s quite a difference between
the two. Can someone look into the discrepancy and advise?
Thanks. Karen

It’s written in the Inventory for this set:
“
Redesigned during production.
There are at least 2 different versions of instructions for this set. The differences
for the second version are indicated in this inventory in the Alternate Items
section with Match ID 99.
Quick overview of redesign: Extensive design changes were made to strengthen
the base and internal structure. The early version has a piece count of 573 and
the later version has a piece count of 569.
