Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 6927 Name: All Terrain Vehicle
*
6927-1 (Inv) All Terrain Vehicle
161 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 1981
Sets: Space: Classic Space

* Add 3 Part 3855 Trans-Yellow Glass for Window 1 x 4 x 3 (Alternate) (match ID 3)
* Change 2 Part White 3040a Slope 45 2 x 1 without Bottom Tube {Alternate to Regular}
* Change 2 Part White 3040 Slope 45 2 x 1 {Regular to Alternate}
* Change 3 Part Trans-Yellow 3855a Glass for Window 1 x 4 x 3 with Circle {match ID 0 to 3}

Comments from Submitter:
I have seen the trans-yellow

Part No: 3855  Name: Glass for Window 1 x 4 x 3
*
3855 Glass for Window 1 x 4 x 3
Parts: Window, Glass & Shutter
with many used copies (including two copies I owned) but this is not easy to prove. For now, this part is orphan and has come with either 6927 or 6970 or both. I am not sure yet if it came with 6970. I checked long time ago some catalogs and found out that the set 6927 was in market for one year after 6970 was discontinued.

I’ve 3x 3855a and 2x 3855 in Trans-Yellow.  They came from 6927 and 6970.
I can’t guarantee the 3x 3855a were in 6927 and the 2x 3855 in 6970.
If one or both sets came “mixed,” I may have “harmonized” the distribution 35
years ago
I don’t remember which set I got first, or if one stayed on store shelf longer
than the other one.

The slopes were 3040 though.

My own sets 6927 and 6970 both have 3855a. The slopes in my 6927 are 3040a. It's
not exactly going to be easy to prove that the glass without circle came in 6927.
But your research of many used sets makes it very likely. Sellers of used sets
may have owned both 6927 and 6970, but 6927 has a larger quantity of these. So
if you found used sets where all 3 of them were without circle then it would
be almost certain that they came originally in this set.

Thanks for checking all those sets. I also noticed that the light gray turntable
was added as an alternate without any evidence that it ever appeared in the set
but only because there is a version of the instructions that shows it. Did you
find light gray turntables in any of those used sets or were they all yellow?

I think I had checked the turntables but I could not trust them. Indeed I am
confident about the glasses because they could have appears in at most two sets
but I am not confident with turntables since they are more common parts and could
have been switched by different colors.

if someone finds convincing proof that it was ever included in this set.

I would say a light gray turntable never came with this set. See photo attached.

with many used copies (including two copies I owned) but this is not easy to prove.

Yes, at least three copies. I also checked some used copies on worthpoint.com
and found them only (or almost) with 6927.

Thanks for checking all those sets. I also noticed that the light gray turntable
was added as an alternate without any evidence that it ever appeared in the set
but only because there is a version of the instructions that shows it. Did you
find light gray turntables in any of those used sets or were they all yellow?

Those sets were used and I sold them already.
I think I had checked the turntables but I could not trust them. Indeed I am
confident about the glasses because they could have appears in at most two sets
but I am not confident with turntables since they are more common parts and could
have been switched by different colors.

I've looked at fot's of multiple used sets and found only yellow turntables.
So I'm going to assume that the light gray turntable was a mistake in the
instructions and remove it from the inventory. It can be added back as an alternate
if someone finds convincing proof that it was ever included in this set.

I would say a light gray turntable never came with this set. See photo attached.

I came across 2 used 6927 sets in a lot with 4 other classic space sets. Both
of my 6927s (assembled) had light grey turn tables and 3855a trans yellow glass
windows.

No parts for 6970. 897 was included in the lot and the grey turn table is accounted
for.

Its possible the turn tables were switched at some point but I dont have any
yellow ones at all....

All 4 slopes are 3040s. 2 have molding pips.
