*
8862-1 (Inv) Backhoe

Sets: Technic: Model: Construction

* Add 70 Part 2780 Black Technic, Pin with Friction Ridges Lengthwise with Center Slots (Alternate) (match ID 3)

This set was first released in 1989 and was still being sold in 1993 catalogs. 1989 is about the time the mold changed on the pins, so it is definitely possible that early sets had the 4459 pins and later sets had the 2780. They would have been the thicker 2780 pins, most likely.

If you want to update the inventory you can submit 2780 as an alternate part to 4459.

Unless someone swapped them out because they are worth 100 times as much.

Hello,

Today I checked my copy of LEGO 8862 set. My copy is still new - just one seal
is broken, but the content is still sealed in original bags. There is a small
sealed bag in the box with a lot of pins. These pins are the old ones - #2780.

Regards,

Marcin

There is a number with 4 digits printed on one of the seals of the box. Would
you mind checking it? It is the production date.

There is one Light Gray Brick 1 x 1 x 5. Is it

I checked the two sets I have in my collection and the non-sealed one has the
2780 variation.
