I know I definitely added some particular items to my inventory some days ago
but now they seem to be missing?! Is it possible that if someone adds them to
their cart they are removed from my inventory even if they didn't buy them?
and is there any way to check this?

No items are removed from the inventory when in a cart.
Maybe the items are in a stockroom or you have a filter on.

No, there is no way to check your inventory history. But you can look in your
stockrooms. Aso, the most common errors occur I believe when updating items on
the My Inventory pages, hitting Submit Changes and then having the site time
out on your request. (Or on the final page of the Add Items dialog.) Check and
double check your work.
