* Change 8 Part Light Gray 3228b Train, Track Slotted Rail Straight {Regular to Alternate}
* Change 8 Part Light Gray 3228c Train, Track Plain Rail Straight (no slots, no notches on end) {Alternate to Regular}

I think the part 3228b was added as regular because it appear on the box.

Why should 3228b be alternate? By principle "first come first serves", the earlier
variant 3228b should be regular and 3228c be alternate. Am I missing something?

According to our guidelines the earlier variant is normally added as regular
and the later variant as alternate. So this request to switch the regular and
alternate part will be rejected.

Hi,
Did you find an evidence of existence of 3228b in this set?
The picture I found is from 1997, I did not found an earlier picture of this
set sealed.

The picture I found is from 1997, I did not found an earlier picture of this
set sealed.

I have seen several pictures of used sets with 3228b. No sealed sets unfortunately.
But it is likely that Lego would use leftover stock of 3228b in the first production
runs of this set before they started using the new variant 3228c.
