What are the differences between the Power function Hubs: 88009 and bb892c01?
Externally they look the same.

There is no difference in the actual parts. In its catalog, Bricklink has an
entry for both the Lego Element ID Number 88009 (stamped onto the part), and
another number, for Power Functions elements. You'll see that there are
more "For Sale" items in the Bricklink bb892c01 catalog entry https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=bb892c01#T=S&C=1&O={"color":1,"iconly":0}
than there are for the 88009 entry https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=88009-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

Thanks. That clears things up as to why there there are two entries for the same
item.
