7 red 1x2 bricks are actually used in that set, not extra. 6 for the chimney (1 at rear for level 1 - 2 on each sides for level 2 - 2 on each sides and 1 at rear for level 3 - with an arch at front) and 1 as a gift pack in the brown box.

Oops ! I misused the form, apparently...
I don't want to delete 5 parts, I just want to move the 2 red bricks from
extra to regular, sorry...

Nice catch!

Yep, I tried building it in LDD without the other two red bricks and it leaves
two holes in the back of the chimney unfilled. I have a feeling they were supposed
to be filled.

Thanks for verifying the model Randy. I've changed our inventory at Rebrickable
as well.
