just a question: was it not better to keep the minifigs and just make an inv.

Why? Well both minifigs are no longer in any other set. Now we have -a and -b
versions but the 'without -a -b' version is no longer available (already
marked for del.).
That was also my reply on the other inv. ch. req.

We have

sp051
sp052
sp053 - marked for del.
sp053a
sp053b
sp054 - marked for del.
sp054b - why not -a (but same question here why not just keep the sp054)
sp055
sp056
sp057
sp058
sp059 - marked for del.
sp059a

Then all sellers would left with incomplete minifigs in such inventory changed
minifig listnings. This was also very old set, wrong minifig was long in the
catalog and also more extensive change this was than only change part variant
being already in minifig for example.

yes ofcourse, forgot

marked for del. members notified about this del. and need to check and relist
the part/minfig etc...
