There is a lot of variation within the Pearl Gold color. Metallic gold is a coating,
not the color of the plastic itself. I am not sure if you are correct.

Looking into a bit more detail, I am convinced that you found a color variation
and not a different color.

Pearl Gold has two distinct variations of color: one lighter and one darker.
However, they are both made from a plastic blend that is meant to look gold.
Metallic Gold on the other hand is a coating of gold paint over a part that is,
I believe, Tan plastic. These two colors are completely different, and you have
unfortunately not found an alternate.

Well ok. Can't see difference between the tile (which is bought from lego
as metallic gold) and the telescope but I trust you know better
