| When a buyer places an order, the seller should be able to see how many orders
that buyer has placed, that ended up being canceled for any reason. If this number
is limited to 6 months, that would be acceptable.
Currently, buyers can see how many orders a seller has canceled during the past
6 months, for any reason. Based on a recent incident, I think my request would
be very revealing. I'm sure that a few buyers would not want this number
exposed.

I will vote 'yes' in a moment.
It would help me in cancelling an order or maybe NOT cancelling an order.
A few days ago I cancelled an order from a new Bricklinkmember.
He asked if I could cancel the order because he ordered the wrong parts. Well,
these things happen so I cancelled the order.
But a few days later I regret I did so.
Apparantly he did at least one other order he got a neutral for, mentioning in
the neutral 'ordered the wrong parts so asked for order cancel'.
This does not mean I would not cancel the order but may have thought about it,
make some kind of reply to the buyer mentioning he can not order at will and
than wants to cancel for 'ordering the wrong parts'.
Making this 'mistake' once, okay, but making it at least twice is no
coincidence.
If future sellers see a buyer want's to cancel an X % of orders it might
be that this buyer could better have some NPB by making quite some bogus orders.
The buyer I mention seems to be going this way, 3 orders with 2 'ordering
the wrong parts'.

Based on what you said, your hat would probably come flying off your head if
I told you what happened this morning. I am reserving those comments until (and
if) I feel they become more appropriate. Sufficient to say that my suggestion
isn't a random thought.

I can't see the utility of such a feature.
Cancellations can happen for a multitude of reasons, but without context, the
raw number of cancellations can only result in people drawing conclusions that
are likely not accurate or helpful.
I don't belief this data will help me make a decision on whether or not to
cancel an order. I'm doing fine without it.

I have cancelled an order because it was intended to go along with another order,
the first of which was cancelled by the seller DAYS after paying because he didn't
have inventory. The only other cancellation was caused by the seller incorrectly
listing colours on the key part in the order so I chose to cancel rather than
take the wrong colour.
Also, buyers are permitted to cancel due to shipping expense being too high,
and the more order I get these too high shipping charges tacked on, the more
likely I am to start cancelling.
At some point I will become frustrated enough by sellers selling cheap bricks
then making it up on the back end with inflated shipping and handling charges
to start canceling every single order like that, and don't think I should
be extorted by the threat of a cancellation count.

This is a great example of why it would be beneficial to show the number of orders
cancelled by buyers. Most sellers have clear shipping costs on their sites and
as a buyer you can estimate your shipping as a result. If you fail to do so and
cancel a bunch of orders because shipping costs are high, then sellers should
have the choice as to whether they want to risk selling to you.

Your feedback left doesn't reflect experienced inflated shipping and charges.

Hi Ray
Voted no on this one as we believe this, along with the number of cancelations
showing for sellers is meaningless and certainly not necessary. When they launched
the upgrade which included the no of cancels showing it was met with a lot of
threads/comments about of what use is it. That hasn't been taken on-board
by development (it's still there) so adding something like this is just really
going to compound the issue. Would much rather see them avoid this completely
and remove that statistic from stores. Cancellations are between the buyer and
the seller and happen for a wide variety of reasons, some good and some not so
good.
Each transactions we get is treated with the same approach, whether the buyer
is very experienced, new or a returning customer and we believe that is how all
customers should be treated, irrespective of how many cancels they may or may
not have.
Sorry we cannot support this one. Good luck with it.

| With an online sale, sellers have legally the right to cancel any order without
any reason within a reasonable timeframe. (no matter what BL says)

I think the perspective is reversed. This isn't about sellers pulling the
rug out from under buyers or buyers disliking a particular sellers shipping cost,
it is more about certain buyers making wholesale cancellation requests across
many sellers. There is currently no easy way to distinquish that. If the seller
cancels a lot of orders, you're going to see that. If the buyer is cancelling
a large percentage of orders, that needs to be noted as well.
Part of what I'm talking about will go away if/when we ever get the 'require
immediate payment box' to check. That is taking time to get up and running.

And sellers can already do that.
