I just placed my first order on the new site using my phone. Ugh! The redesigned
site wasn't built using responsive design code? Modern sites should automatically
recognize the device type and change the look and feel of the site to cater to
that device. There should be at least five breakpoints, mobile portrait, mobile
landscape, tablet portrait, tablet landscape, and desktop landscape, for optimal
design.

Your response is, yet again, nonsense.

Can you at least attempt to understand the comment before responding? Admin
has already admitted that their world-class development team did not design the
site to be responsive to mobile browsers, and that is what this suggestion is
asking - to have this site be automatically responsive to the device you are
using (something that should have been a fundamental part of any professional
redesign in the first place).

I understand very well. And I'm currently writing on my tablet. So the site
is "usable" on such devices. So no "nonsense".

Who uses this site on a phone with a 4" screen? Have you tried the mobile site?
I guess not...

It is nonsense, as op was requesting more than bare-bones "useable". Useable
is not equivalent to responsive. But don't let that stop you from doubling
down.

/ response typed from a phone with a 4" screen.

Gotta agree with Todd and the OP here. It is in fact usable. I utilize it on
my iPhone and iPad frequently. But it is not practical. It does not recognize
mobile devices and have auto adjust. Im pinching and scrolling and clicking on
things I don't normally have to in order to make it usable.

I am legally blind. I have to have VERY special "things" INSIDE my eyeball to
make them "work." They are usable. But the damn sure aren't practical nor
are they a long term solution.

The site is not even well usable on a small 10.1" laptop (netbook) screen.
The new design requires a horizontal resolution of at least 1080px, which my
netbook I use for many BrickLink tasks doesn't have (it's 1024x600).

How the new design was advertised is a blatant lie:
http://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=987449

"Fluid page width: Having a small or large screen will no longer be an
issue. Items details and all page elements will display properly based on your
screen size."

Nothing displays properly, it shows a horizontal scrollbar instead.

Here are two examples to your question. Taken from real world BL buyers who have
purchased from me multiple times and were good enough to respond to my YouTube
video concerning errors with the BL 2.0 upgrade:

"Big B, when is BrickLink going to fix the mobile navigation issue? I can no
longer sneak in purchases from my phone when I have to watch a show with my wife."

"Dude, I used to search and shop when I [expletive], when is BL going to fix
this [expletive]? I need my triple S fix!"

I've included two of the more humorous cases strictly to lighten the mood
but this is an issue that should be addressed. People do hide their purchases
from each other as well as surf 'n, well, you know. (I'm not judging.)
Can we get a timeline as to when this will return.

Moderator: If including language as above is against BL forum policy please let
me know. I'm not trying to cause problems, just crack grins.
