I just had an order that's been on hold for a while because the buyer didn't
notice my e-mail with a question, and the order, well, I just had that put on
the pretty nondescript status of 'processing'. So he was waiting. How
about adding a status for when the seller is awaiting reply from the buyer? In
such cases, it would be much easier to communicate. Also, as all sellers know,
buyers sometimes don't respond to their mail, it gets put into spam or
they've provided an obsure mail address they don't use alot, etc. So,
if there'd be a status indicating the seller is awating contact, any problems
are much more easily identified much earlier on. It's kind of like the Lego.com
'contact customer service' status.
It has happened so many times that buyers contact me with "hey what's going
on?" and I have to reply "well I sent you a mail, that was back then and then,
please have a look" and they're like "aaaah ok I didn't know, I was just
waiting"..

And YES for My Action Items. So both buyer and seller can see it right after
logging in.
I would also like to see it working both ways. When buyers asks a question AND
when seller asks a question.
However the "workaround" is questions written in Comment section when placing
the order.. There were quite a few occasions when I aaaalmost missed something
important there, left by my buyers.

Yeah I guess when people are thorough enough to check their action items,
they'll check messages too. But so many people hold on to checking their
order status (you know, impatience ), so that's THE spot to refer them
to a message that has been sent.
And it going both ways could also be good, as long as it's easily understood
who is awaiting whose reply Or it could be a generic "see messages" status

Our sollution for "open" questions is.
Order on Processing and "awaiting answer" written in the tracking number
But your idea would be a improvement for sure.
